DŶSENTERY BLUES FINALLY a proper double vinyl pressing for this. I discovered this album in college on cd, and have hoped that someone someday would invest the money to put this out on vinyl! Today is a great day, pre order smashed.
Ken Goodey
Ken Goodey thumbnail
Ken Goodey This is so wonderfully, excitingly odd. Black Metal for zither and drum kit. The zither is dark, eerie, cold; the agonised vocals, perfectly strained, and the drums tight and refreshingly trigger free. Definitely a nod to the lo-fi BM tradition, with surprising melodies and fascinating lyrics about various flora. Definitely one of my most interesting BC discoveries, along with the equally compelling Jute Gyte. Will certainly be buying some of Botanist’s other releases when funds allow. Favorite track: Helleborus Niger.
Yawning Druid
Yawning Druid thumbnail
Yawning Druid Though Botanist has gone on to make much more cohesive and well produced music, I really do love this collection of songs from the infancy stages of the band. Strange, atmospheric, and unique as Botanist has always kept true to their uniqueness. The black metal world is lucky to have musicians such as these. Favorite track: Helleborus Niger.
